The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chico Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erlingur Haaland in the 4th minute of play. In the 4th minute, Remo Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th match minute, MarquinhosEC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jano Nascimento to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, MarquinhosEC's goal looked a bit too open when Remo Aguiar came free, but Chico Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute Remo Aguiar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Carioca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guará FC's Remo Aguiar pulled a muscle in his leg after 13 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Dráuzio Machado fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MarquinhosEC's protests and gave Dráuzio Machado a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, MarquinhosEC's Dráuzio Machado got a free kick in the 13th minute. Chico Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Carlinhos Pontes notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of MarquinhosEC's Chico Carioca. Chico Carioca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcos Boldrini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jânio Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Guará FC booed when MarquinhosEC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardinho Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Vasconcelos to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Guará FC's Carlinhos Pontes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chico Carioca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Nuno Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Nuno Vasconcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chico Carioca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nuno Vasconcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlinhos Pontes took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Chico Carioca. Chico Carioca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. After 68 minutes of play, Guará FC's Carlinhos Pontes made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chico Carioca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcos Boldrini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jânio Furlan having to interfere. Guará FC made a substitution. Angelo Mendes replaced Carlinhos Pontes.
