Benê Amorim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Barbosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Hugo Albuquerque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MINEIROS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Elite™- FC Galácticos the free kick. A collision led to MINEIROS getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Serginho Taffarel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Décio de Sena. Jonathan Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Elite™- FC Galácticos's zone, Toninho Goiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Barbosa came out of the goal and Toninho Goiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 35 played minutes José Paulo de Mendonça rounded MINEIROS's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 41 minutes into the match, MINEIROS's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Quintal came free, but Serginho Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elite™- FC Galácticos's Jonathan Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Goiano in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Hugo Albuquerque made the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game Hugo Albuquerque who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Elite™- FC Galácticos's Jonathan Barbosa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee ignored Elite™- FC Galácticos's protests and gave Jarbas Loyola a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Elite™- FC Galácticos's Jarbas Loyola got a free kick in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Elite™- FC Galácticos's goalkeeper Jonathan Barbosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Albuquerque. Hugo Albuquerque in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Barbosa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. João Paraíba kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Elite™- FC Galácticos's Décio de Sena tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute José Paulo de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 95 played minutes MINEIROS got a freekick which was hit by William Guerreiro.
