The crowd rose to their feet as ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Antônio Santos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eriberto Leão. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s attentive Ulysses Valle managed to snatch the ball when Nilton de Queiroz made a throw-in in the 10th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Santos in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eriberto Leão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Joinville Esporte Clube's zone, Antônio Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Leão came out of the goal and Antônio Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eriberto Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antônio Santos in the 19th minute. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Antônio Santos took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Eriberto Leão to make any attempt to save it. Antônio Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eriberto Leão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antônio Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Eriberto Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Santos in the 25th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Antônio Santos notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Joinville Esporte Clube's Eriberto Leão. Eriberto Leão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 36th minute, Antônio Santos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eriberto Leão was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Joinville Esporte Clube's Eriberto Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Santos in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Deivid Vaz got a free kick in the 41st minute. Antônio Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eriberto Leão having to make a save. 45 minutes into the match, Joinville Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Santos came free, but Eriberto Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joinville Esporte Clube's Eriberto Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio Santos in the 46th minute of play. Antônio Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Dário Martins was substituted for Erivaldo Sena. After a rather tough play, ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Antônio Santos got a free kick in the 49th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dário Martins was the one to do the kick off. Antônio Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eriberto Leão having to make a save. 54 minutes into the match, Joinville Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Santos came free, but Eriberto Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute, Fellipe Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Dário Martins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eriberto Leão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Ove Ahlström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joinville Esporte Clube the free kick. After 64th play minutes Dário Martins shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Eriberto Leão and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 67th minute Antônio Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eriberto Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 76 played minutes, Joinville Esporte Clube's Renatinho Favoretto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Vítor Arósio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Joinville Esporte Clube reached it. The throw-in from Célio Torres in the 78th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Celsinho Capixaba. Eriberto Leão came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s Antônio Santos. But to his dismay, Antônio Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. After a rather tough play, Joinville Esporte Clube's Nelson Eger got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute of the match Xande Chaves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eriberto Leão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dário Martins took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eriberto Leão. Eriberto Leão dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. There was no doubt that ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ were the better team. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
