A collision led to PIAUÍ FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Adrianinho Guedes hit a great ball. Evandro Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Amadeo Rufo made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when André Luiz Prado sent off a good shot on target. 35 minutes into the match, Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when André Luiz Prado came free, but Amadeo Rufo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandro Meirelles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luiz Prado in the 47th minute of play forced Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Amadeo Rufo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonathan Calleri made a kick off. Amadeo Rufo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Gustavo da Mata went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Ulisses Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 62 played minutes Nova Erechim - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Ulisses Santos. Amadeo Rufo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonathan Calleri's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Edin Džeko hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If André Luiz Prado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 81st minute, Edin Džeko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amadeo Rufo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Calleri in the 84th minute of play. Nova Erechim - FSCMZ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
