A collision led to Motta Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Zeca Esteves hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Luiz Gustavo da Mata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Luiz Gustavo da Mata could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Alberto Soeiro however easily saved by the left post. Yves Lothart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeca de Azevedo in the 31st minute of play. Abel Donatello hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. When Zeca Esteves fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Motta Futebol Clube's protests and gave Zeca Esteves a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Motta Futebol Clube's Zeca Esteves got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After some careless play in the PIAUÍ FC defense, Elias Freire kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yves Lothart. The PIAUÍ FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yves Lothart should have stopped the shot. After 41 minutes, Zeca de Azevedo made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. PIAUÍ FC's Yves Lothart tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute Elias Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yves Lothart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute Motta Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Zeca Esteves went to the cornerflag to take it. Zeca de Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeca de Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Motta Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zeca de Azevedo got free with Yves Lothart in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Otávio Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. PIAUÍ FC's Yves Lothart proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save PIAUÍ FC from getting a goal against them. Elias Freire scored 0-4 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yves Lothart, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Elias Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Yves Lothart made a huge save. 85 minutes into the game, Luizão Domingues recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Yves Lothart. Luizão Domingues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Motta in the 89th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Yves Lothart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elias Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yves Lothart having to interfere. Elias Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Motta Futebol Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than PIAUÍ FC.
