The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Marco Ureña came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the C.A. GUAYACO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Ureña couldn't finish the play. The supporters of C.A. GUAYACO booed when Club Puerto Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pico Garonaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the game, Marino Grazia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Johnny Conill was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Club Puerto Quito defense, Jimmy Estopinal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johnny Conill. The Club Puerto Quito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johnny Conill should have stopped the shot. 20 minutes in the game, Marino Grazia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Johnny Conill having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Jimmy Estopinal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Johnny Conill, 4-0. When Jimmy Estopinal came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the C.A. GUAYACO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimmy Estopinal couldn't finish the play. After 28 played minutes Club Puerto Quito got a freekick which was hit by Pico Garonaga. Marino Grazia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Conill having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Marino Grazia managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. GUAYACO's supporters rose to their feet, but Marino Grazia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johnny Conill breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pepito Plasencia to make the kick off. Marino Grazia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Johnny Conill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimmy Estopinal in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Club Puerto Quito getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Pico Garonaga hit a great ball. Santiago Huemen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Karol Haskiewicz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pico Garonaga during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of C.A. GUAYACO booed when Club Puerto Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pico Garonaga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johnny Conill came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A. GUAYACO's Marino Grazia. But to his dismay, Marino Grazia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Marco Ureña recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. C.A. GUAYACO's Juan-Pablo Dorrial was substituted for Marino Grazia. C.A. GUAYACO made a substitution. Rodrigo Caborredondo replaced Mateo Coviella. 76 minutes into the game, Zadornin Sereno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Puerto Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. GUAYACO the free kick. A collision led to Club Puerto Quito getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Zadornin Sereno hit a great ball. Johnny Conill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmy Estopinal in the 77th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jimmy Estopinal in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Conill saved Club Puerto Quito from getting behind. Club Puerto Quito's Johnny Conill played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Estopinal in the 81st minute of play. C.A. GUAYACO's Karol Haskiewicz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save C.A. GUAYACO from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, C.A. GUAYACO's Karol Haskiewicz got control of the ball when Santiago Huemen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rolando Devalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karol Haskiewicz having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jimmy Estopinal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johnny Conill was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Johnny Conill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Prado in the 96th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. C.A. GUAYACO had played much better football throughout.
