If Lennart De Keyser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ronald Mathy fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flamenco United's protests and gave Ronald Mathy a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th minute Lennart De Keyser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucien Bourgeois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johny Godefroid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Bourgeois having to interfere. Marten De Hond took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wannes De Tapp. Wannes De Tapp dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Lucien Bourgeois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennart De Keyser, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Flamenco United's goal looked a bit too open when Johny Godefroid came free, but Lucien Bourgeois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucien Bourgeois showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dreas Caers in the 21st minute of the match. After 23 minutes, Giovanni Van Bael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flamenco United and the Invictus FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee gave Invictus FC a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nestor Verdun, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Flamenco United's Lucien Bourgeois. 1-1. Johny Godefroid took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucien Bourgeois. Lucien Bourgeois dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Nestor Verdun, 33 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Johny Godefroid's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucien Bourgeois read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Flamenco United's Ronald Mathy got a free kick in the 36th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Johny Godefroid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Invictus FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Johny Godefroid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucien Bourgeois breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lennart De Keyser's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucien Bourgeois read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johny Godefroid in the 42nd minute of play forced Flamenco United's goalkeeper Lucien Bourgeois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dreas Caers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Lucien Bourgeois tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flamenco United's goalkeeper Lucien Bourgeois, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Seppe Sterkx in the 46th minute of play forced Invictus FC's goalkeeper Wannes De Tapp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Wannes De Tapp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marten De Hond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Invictus FC's Wannes De Tapp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marten De Hond in the 60th minute of play. 60 minutes into the game, Dreas Caers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Invictus FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamenco United the free kick. Dreas Caers hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Wannes De Tapp made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gillis Van Dongel in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute Gillis Van Dongel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wannes De Tapp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Johny Godefroid had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Lennart De Keyser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marten De Hond in the 74th minute of play forced Invictus FC's goalkeeper Wannes De Tapp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Marten De Hond ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wannes De Tapp was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. 79 minutes into the match, Flamenco United's goal looked a bit too open when Lennart De Keyser came free, but Lucien Bourgeois reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wannes De Tapp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marten De Hond in the 81st minute of the match. Lucien Bourgeois made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johny Godefroid in the 84th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Flamenco United's goalkeeper Lucien Bourgeois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dreas Caers. In the 92nd minute, Gillis Van Dongel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flamenco United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. In the 96th minute Johny Godefroid shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucien Bourgeois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute of the match Invictus FC got a corner. Flamenco United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nestor Verdun ran over to the corner to take the kick. Invictus FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
