The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elias Sollid hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After 11 played minutes Bårjåsnjárgga got a freekick which was hit by Gjermund Engeset. In the 11th minute of the match Adam Sjøli shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Didrik Nyberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Lost in pace defense, Kristian Fadnes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Endre Haddeland. The Lost in pace fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Endre Haddeland should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Dag Mohn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bårjåsnjárgga's supporters rose to their feet, but Dag Mohn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Endre Haddeland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 19 played minutes Lost in pace got a freekick which was hit by Hans Borgen. The supporters of Lost in pace booed when Bårjåsnjárgga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dag Mohn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dag Mohn hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Arvid Minde struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Didrik Nyberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lost in pace. After 42 played minutes Bårjåsnjárgga got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Moseid. After 44 played minutes Lost in pace got a freekick which was hit by Christian Sørli. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dag Mohn in the 45th minute of play forced Lost in pace's goalkeeper Endre Haddeland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 minutes Lost in pace's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kristian Fadnes who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Bårjåsnjárgga's Preben Aasheim to fire away a dangerous shot which Endre Haddeland despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arvid Minde was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arvid Minde in the 52nd minute of play forced Bårjåsnjárgga's goalkeeper Didrik Nyberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cornelius Fanebust during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th minute of the match Adam Sjøli shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Didrik Nyberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kristian Fadnes charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kristian Fadnes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bårjåsnjárgga's Didrik Nyberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by William Vedal in the 68th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elias Sollid during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Alf Nygård came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Lost in pace fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alf Nygård couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Lost in pace's zone, Kristian Fadnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Endre Haddeland came out of the goal and Kristian Fadnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lost in pace's Alf Nygård got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Didrik Nyberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvid Minde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
