In the 19th minute, Hector-Luis Almandoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luis Ortiz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half Deportivo Popolizio FBC were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabon Castrejana was the one to do the kick off. Artizar Melic came out of the goal and Teobaldo Hood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Club Atlético Lea Papá's Luis Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabon Castrejana in the 94th minute of play. Juan Labarrita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Luis Ortiz made a huge save.
