In the 27th minute Alex Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robinho de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robinho de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio de Medeiros in the 32nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Magnistar's Vitinho Quirino got a free kick in the 40th minute. Robinho de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio de Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute, Jefferson Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Robinho de Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wellington Phoenix. Jefferson Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Robinho de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgílio de Medeiros in the 72nd minute of play. Wellington Phoenix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wellington Phoenix succeeded in the game's 89th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. A collision led to Magnistar getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Caetano Arantes hit a great ball. When the match was over Wellington Phoenix could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Magnistar throughout the match.
