After a rather tough play, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Igor Matos got a free kick in the 5th minute. Beto Cavalcante charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Beto Cavalcante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 8 played minutes Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- got a freekick which was hit by Beto Cavalcante. In the 14th minute, Leonel Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pombal 2003 F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Cristiano de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haroldo Esteves succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 23rd playminute. Marcus Machado came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Beto Cavalcante. But to his dismay, Beto Cavalcante quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Marcus Machado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haroldo Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Cristiano de Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 47 in the game by Haroldo Esteves from a close distance when the talented Marcus Machado managed to make a qualified save. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s players were relieved.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonel Andrade to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Régis de Andrade got a free kick in the 51st minute. Marcelinho Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Régis de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Machado having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Esteves in the 56th minute of play forced Pombal 2003 F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcus Machado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 57 played minutes Pombal 2003 F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Paulão Fonseca. The supporters of Pombal 2003 F.C. booed when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui de Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcus Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Esteves in the 63rd minute of play. Marcelinho Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Valdemar Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Marcus Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haroldo Esteves in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st match minute, Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Valdemar Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute, Naldo de Queirós got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Haroldo Esteves in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcus Machado saved Pombal 2003 F.C. from getting behind. 84 minutes into the match, Haroldo Esteves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcus Machado. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Haroldo Esteves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Naldo de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Machado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristiano de Moraes in the 95th minute of play. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
