America Futebol Clube SP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Pernambucano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 19th match minute, Fúria Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. If Carlos Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beto Mandrak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nildo Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the game, Jerônimo Luz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fúria Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave America Futebol Clube SP the free kick. In the 27th match minute, Fúria Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerônimo Luz to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Veiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladimir Corrêa having to make a save. 36 minutes into the game, Beto Mandrak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Vladimir Corrêa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paulão Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Veiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vladimir Corrêa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carlos Veiga ran back to his position shaking his head. If Beto Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristian Pernambucano made a kick off. Sérgio Trigo hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. 51 minutes into the match, America Futebol Clube SP's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Pernambucano came free, but Nildo Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narciso Ortiz hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 57th match minute, Fúria Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aírton Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th match minute, America Futebol Clube SP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Veiga to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Fúria Futebol Clube defense, Beto Mandrak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vladimir Corrêa. The Fúria Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vladimir Corrêa should have stopped the shot. In the 75th minute, Carlos Veiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The America Futebol Clube SP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Vladimir Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aírton Maranhense lost his temper 87 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 87th minute, Aírton Maranhense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 88 minutes, Sérgio Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. America Futebol Clube SP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sérgio Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Narciso Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimir Corrêa having to interfere. Vladimir Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Veiga in the 96th minute of play. America Futebol Clube SP walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
