Miguel Baptista was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kauã Barral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elano Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vinícius Siqueira fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nacional de Rolândia's protests and gave Vinícius Siqueira a yellow card for diving instead. Vinícius Siqueira hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Elano Travassos did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Kauã Barral 11 minutes into the match. Nacional de Rolândia were furious when Vivaldo Recife was red carded, 15 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nacional de Rolândia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 15th minute. Penalty! In the 17th minute, Squadra Sulista got a penalty, and Leonardo Meireles placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Domingues in the 24th minute of play forced Squadra Sulista's goalkeeper Miguel Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th match minute, Squadra Sulista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugênio Tasso to maneuver through the defense. 26 minutes into the match, Fiori Trancoso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miguel Baptista. Squadra Sulista's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fiori Trancoso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After a rather tough play, Nacional de Rolândia's Percy Tande got a free kick in the 28th minute. Fiori Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Miguel Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eugênio Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Rodrigo Domingues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Raí Rodrigues was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 43 minutes had been played. The supporters of Nacional de Rolândia booed when Squadra Sulista was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raí Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fiori Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Miguel Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Elano Travassos was the one to do the kick off. Célio Cruz charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Célio Cruz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th minute, one of Squadra Sulista:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Squadra Sulista. The goalkeeper, Miguel Baptista, was totally fooled by Nacional de Rolândia's Eurico Sarmento, who 59 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Nacional de Rolândia's Fiori Trancoso got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Squadra Sulista's Miguel Baptista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiori Trancoso in the 64th minute of play. If Fiori Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kauã Barral having to interfere. In the 76th match minute, Nacional de Rolândia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdo Gerber to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute, Elano Travassos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Squadra Sulista's zone, Fiori Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Baptista came out of the goal and Fiori Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Elano Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Squadra Sulista's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Travassos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kauã Barral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodrigo Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Baptista having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Rodrigo Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Nacional de Rolândia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Squadra Sulista.
