In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vampiros Aztecas's goalkeeper Emiliano Oliverios, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 12thth minute of the game Pascual Heli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vampiros Aztecas's Emiliano Oliverios was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ladislao Gaskon kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. The Old Boys's Justo Perpinya got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emiliano Oliverios took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teodosio Telmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Justo Perpinya in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emiliano Oliverios saved Vampiros Aztecas from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Vampiros Aztecas's Valentin Nesor seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Valentin Nesor the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Vampiros Aztecas protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Valentin Nesor had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vampiros Aztecas! Emiliano Oliverios went to the wrong direction when Haroldo Padro was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Teodosio Telmo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emiliano Oliverios. Vampiros Aztecas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Teodosio Telmo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Ruben Garin came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Vampiros Aztecas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruben Garin couldn't finish the play. After the first half The Old Boys were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game was made by Ildefonso Montel with Tiburcio Longa as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. If Ruben Garin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Ruben Garin notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of The Old Boys's Nereo Medardo. Nereo Medardo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Tiburcio Longa came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the The Old Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiburcio Longa couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute Tiburcio Longa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emiliano Oliverios saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justo Perpinya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute, Ruben Garin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ladislao Gaskon kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Vampiros Aztecas's Emiliano Oliverios played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justo Perpinya in the 88th minute of play. Vampiros Aztecas succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though The Old Boys had controlled the match.
