An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Monesterio in the 17th minute of play forced Club Puerto Quito's goalkeeper Johnny Conill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vigil Ramirez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Devalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Rubio Poo came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the No Me Inscriban Gracias fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubio Poo couldn't finish the play. Johnny Conill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Monesterio in the 23rd minute of play. In the 29th minute Lucio Monesterio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Conill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pico Garonaga kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Johnny Conill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan-Alfredo Lorenzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes of play, No Me Inscriban Gracias's Rubio Poo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Johnny Conill was left in no man's land by his defense there! Johnny Conill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Monesterio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No Me Inscriban Gracias's Lucio Monesterio got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rolando Devalla to make the kick off. After some careless play in the No Me Inscriban Gracias defense, Rolando Devalla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vigil Ramirez. The No Me Inscriban Gracias fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vigil Ramirez should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the match, No Me Inscriban Gracias's goal looked a bit too open when Rolando Devalla came free, but Vigil Ramirez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 66 minutes on the clock, Francisco Nero commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 66th match minute, No Me Inscriban Gracias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Nero to maneuver through the defense. Juan-Alfredo Lorenzo ran back to his position shaking his head. Johnny Conill made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Lucio Monesterio sent off a good shot on target. Sergio Piña kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Lucio Monesterio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Johnny Conill. The goal made the score 2-2.
