In the 5th minute Hector Urbes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tod Bridgeworth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Greengates Goliaths getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Tristram Hill hit a great ball. Vadim Kapranov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Crowther in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Necaettin İzzet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shane Tetley charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shane Tetley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Shane Tetley hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hector Urbes in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tod Bridgeworth saved Carlisle United from getting behind. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Carlisle United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Michalis Banasopoulos was slow to take the kick. During this time Greengates Goliaths's players had a chance to rest. Greengates Goliaths's Lawrence Leeson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tod Bridgeworth in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 15 minutes into the match, Lawrence Leeson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Carlisle United's Tod Bridgeworth. Tod Bridgeworth was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 26th minute, Calvin Townsley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Carlisle United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Francis Farrell's late challenge caught a Carlisle United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francis Farrell helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Carlisle United booed when Greengates Goliaths was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francis Farrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vadim Kapranov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Crowther, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Hector Urbes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tod Bridgeworth having to make a save. Vadim Kapranov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calvin Townsley's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After 40 played minutes Greengates Goliaths got a freekick which was hit by Seth Brown. The crowd rose to their feet as Calvin Townsley kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vadim Kapranov. That made the score 2-1 in the 44 minute of play. In the 47th minute, Hector Urbes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hector Urbes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vadim Kapranov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Calvin Townsley in the 52nd minute of the match. Vadim Kapranov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calvin Townsley in the 54th minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Calvin Townsley had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vadim Kapranov. Greengates Goliaths's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Calvin Townsley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calvin Townsley in the 57th minute of play forced Greengates Goliaths's goalkeeper Vadim Kapranov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greengates Goliaths's Vadim Kapranov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calvin Townsley in the 59th minute of play. Hector Urbes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Tod Bridgeworth made a huge save. If Hector Urbes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Carlisle United's zone, Hector Urbes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tod Bridgeworth came out of the goal and Hector Urbes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vadim Kapranov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harri Kaine in the 66th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calvin Townsley in the 72nd minute of play forced Greengates Goliaths's goalkeeper Vadim Kapranov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Shane Tetley got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Tod Bridgeworth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Urbes in the 75th minute of the match. Hector Urbes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tod Bridgeworth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Greengates Goliaths's Vadim Kapranov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calvin Townsley in the 83rd minute of play. Niccolo Otamendi kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Carlisle United's goalkeeper Tod Bridgeworth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michalis Banasopoulos. Vadim Kapranov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calvin Townsley, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Calvin Townsley in the 97th minute of play forced Greengates Goliaths's goalkeeper Vadim Kapranov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Michalis Banasopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Greengates Goliaths fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michalis Banasopoulos couldn't finish the play. Greengates Goliaths's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
