Andriy Lunin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Berkowitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, SC Night Cats's goal looked a bit too open when David Elodio came free, but Arno Trenkel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute of the match SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a corner. SC Night Cats's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Toralf Hell ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ulises Pagomari kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arno Trenkel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, David Elodio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper couldn't reach when Stefan Halbich 27 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. In the 32nd minute of the match, Xabat Acedo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Andriy Lunin was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Andriy Lunin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Stefan Halbich in the 37th minute. The corner ended in Ulises Pagomari almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Andriy Lunin did a great save. The supporters of SC Night Cats booed when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Elodio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd match minute, SC Night Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulises Pagomari to maneuver through the defense. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arno Trenkel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Elodio, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Christian Berkowitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Andriy Lunin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Niculae Ungureanu was substituted for Steffen Michalsky. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Arno Trenkel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 72 minutes SC Night Cats's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Toralf Hell who took care of the corner kick. The corner led SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Toralf Hell to fire away a dangerous shot which Arno Trenkel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. David Elodio might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arno Trenkel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Elodio ran back to his position shaking his head. 79 minutes into the match, SC Night Cats's goal looked a bit too open when David Elodio came free, but Arno Trenkel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andriy Lunin came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Night Cats's Xabat Acedo. But to his dismay, Xabat Acedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. SC Night Cats's Arno Trenkel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save SC Night Cats from getting a goal against them.
