If Gaudencio Lekubegi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Heiner Studer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaudencio Lekubegi got free with Heiner Studer in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute Nico Gruenewald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Lepucki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heiner Studer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaudencio Lekubegi's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Gaudencio Lekubegi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Heiner Studer made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gaudencio Lekubegi to make the kick off. In the 51stth minute of the game Gaudencio Lekubegi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1. FC Union Weberei's Heiner Studer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Iwan Lepucki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nico Gruenewald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
