Frode Tobiassen started the match with the kick off. When Åsnes's Al Wieczorek in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brufoss IL's goalie prevented a goal. Åsnes's Jarl Rossebø quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ole-Kristian Lekven, made in the 4th minute of the game. With his leg Leif Opdal managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Åsnes's İskender Baki Sabi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. İskender Baki Sabi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Leif Opdal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 19 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Al Wieczorek. In the 20th minute, Brufoss IL's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after İskender Baki Sabi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When August Bergsland came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Brufoss IL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that August Bergsland couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarl Rossebø in the 33rd minute of play forced Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Åsnes were awarded a corner. Truls Roll went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Kálmán Pádár almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Brufoss IL's Leif Opdal did a great save. In the 36th minute, Åsnes's İskender Baki Sabi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Leif Opdal. Leif Opdal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. İskender Baki Sabi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Leif Opdal when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 39 minutes into the game, İskender Baki Sabi lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Leif Opdal. After having played for 46 minutes, İskender Baki Sabi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åsnes's supporters crossed their fingers, but İskender Baki Sabi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th minute Asbjørn Sigurdsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tom Røise saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for İskender Baki Sabi to strike the kick off in the second half. Jarl Rossebø blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leif Opdal having to make a save. İskender Baki Sabi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Brufoss IL defense, Al Wieczorek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leif Opdal. The Brufoss IL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leif Opdal should have stopped the shot. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 69 played minutes Brufoss IL got a freekick which was hit by Christer Ribe. Brufoss IL's Tom Utheim was substituted for Asbjørn Sigurdsen. Brufoss IL's Fabian Bjørgum was substituted for Ole-Kristian Lekven. In the 70th minute, Christer Ribe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brufoss IL's Leif Opdal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by İskender Baki Sabi in the 71st minute of play. İskender Baki Sabi took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leif Opdal. Leif Opdal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. İskender Baki Sabi got in the 74th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Leif Opdal handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Tom Røise was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and August Bergsland capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. August Bergsland really showed his touch with that goal: 5-1. If İskender Baki Sabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by İskender Baki Sabi in the 80th minute of play forced Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Leif Opdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leif Opdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Al Wieczorek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Åsnes's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
