Fabio Totakoxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Palermo in the 3rd minute of the match. Martin Palermo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Totakoxe having to make a save. Angelo Mogel made in the 6th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Magic is Back's Roland Schiavi. Miguel Nicolau kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the game, Marciano Iraido was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Forest Green's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Magic is Back the free kick. The supporters of Magic is Back booed when Forest Green was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marciano Iraido didn't get a good kick on the ball. Magic is Back's Marcelo Trobbiani got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 13thth minute of the game Martin Palermo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Forest Green's Fabio Totakoxe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Magic is Back's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Beliran came free, but Ruben Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 20 played minutes Forest Green got a freekick which was hit by Ambrosio Dalmu. In the 20th minute, Martin Palermo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fabio Totakoxe, passed just outside the right post. After 22 played minutes Forest Green got a freekick which was hit by Ambrosio Dalmu. In the 24th match minute, Forest Green was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marciano Iraido to maneuver through the defense. Forest Green's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Martin Palermo scored to the left of an out of position Fabio Totakoxe, making the score, 2-0. 29 minutes into the match, Forest Green's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Palermo came free, but Fabio Totakoxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Magic is Back booed when Forest Green was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lisandro Loreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Forest Green's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Martin Palermo 30 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. Ramón Ponce fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Totakoxe having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Marcelo Trobbiani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 42 played minutes Forest Green got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Mogel. Martin Palermo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Totakoxe having to interfere. Forest Green's Fabio Totakoxe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Palermo in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
Magic is Back made a substitution. Gabi Batistuta replaced Ramón Ponce. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martin Palermo to strike the kick off in the second half. Magic is Back's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacobo Iruinea in the 54th minute of play. Orlando Medina might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabio Totakoxe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Orlando Medina ran back to his position shaking his head. After 57 minutes, Martin Palermo made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Forest Green's Fabio Totakoxe tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Martin Palermo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Totakoxe having to make a save. 61 minutes into the match, Forest Green's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Palermo came free, but Fabio Totakoxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orlando Medina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Magic is Back's Claudio Marangoni was substituted for Marcelo Trobbiani. After a rather tough play, Forest Green's Marciano Iraido got a free kick in the 65th minute. After 69 minutes, Martin Palermo made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Forest Green's Fabio Totakoxe tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Magic is Back's Martin Palermo got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Martin Palermo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Forest Green getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Ambrosio Dalmu hit a great ball. A very nice done corner allowed Orlando Medina to score against Fabio Totakoxe in Forest Green's goal. 6-0 after 79 minutes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martin Palermo in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Totakoxe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Roberto Rogel fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Magic is Back's protests and gave Roberto Rogel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Magic is Back getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Roberto Rogel hit a great ball. A hard shot by Ovidio Reynardo from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got Ruben Sánchez's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 97th minute, Martin Palermo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Magic is Back fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Magic is Back fully deserved thier win.
