Spectators: 153 (Terracing: 115, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Celta de Virgos's Benny Niva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elpidio Francis. In the 6th minute, Leonardo Cordero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th minute, Benny Niva left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Celta de Virgos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Francis came free, but Zacarias Ascencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zacarias Ascencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Francis, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Benny Niva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Celta de Virgos booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Prosperi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute Inocencio Cristos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Ascencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Danilo Demario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Celta de Virgos were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Elpidio Francis made the kick off in the second half. Branislav Velchevski was a little too slow when Benny Niva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-2. Celta de Virgos's Leonides Corderro was substituted for Orlondón Lagos. Celta de Virgos made a substitution. David Astudillo replaced Benny Niva. After a rather tough play, Celta de Virgos's Jayden Beaverley got a free kick in the 64th minute. David Astudillo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Branislav Velchevski came out and tried to block the shot, but David Astudillo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 69th minute. After 75 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Koulis Lalas. 76 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Astudillo. Benicio Seguinus made in the 78th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Elpidio Francis immediately put the ball in play. A collision led to Celta de Virgos getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Dündar Aynacıoğlu hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexis Sanchez in the 88th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Cristos in the 90th minute of play forced Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Zacarias Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 played minutes Celta de Virgos got a freekick which was hit by Dündar Aynacıoğlu. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Astudillo got free with Branislav Velchevski in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. David Astudillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Celta de Virgos eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
