Santa Lucia de Merlo's Benjamin Lehoi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Oliver Kahn in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Hernan Louis, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 21 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Oliver Kahn was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Florentino Herauso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Primo in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match Elpobre toma sidraTUNUYAN got a corner. Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Salvador Gelacio ran over to the corner to take the kick. Polo Quinteros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oliver Kahn having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Polo Quinteros in the 27th minute of play forced Elpobre toma sidraTUNUYAN's goalkeeper Oliver Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Primo got free with Florentino Herauso in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 38 minutes, Polo Quinteros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Santa Lucia de Merlo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Polo Quinteros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Santa Lucia de Merlo's M. Agus Young was substituted for Polo Quinteros. In the 53rd match minute, Santa Lucia de Merlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Chano to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Sabina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Herauso having to interfere. M. After a defensive mix-up in Elpobre toma sidraTUNUYAN's zone, M. Agus Young stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliver Kahn came out of the goal and M. Agus Young tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Aldo Hartz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
