In the 15thth minute of the game Carolo Camaño who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PERSPOLIS's Dean Grieve was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. PERSPOLIS's Dean Grieve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Camaño in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carolo Camaño in the 19th minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Dean Grieve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carolo Camaño in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dean Grieve saved PERSPOLIS from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Carolo Camaño's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dean Grieve was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Javier Perpiñán showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Ganix in the 46th minute of the match. Max Thrane charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Max Thrane the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
