The audience thought a goal was coming when Benê Rodrigues got free with Tiago Dantas in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fynn John showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nico Fonseca in the 19th minute of the match. In the 40th minute, Waclaw Olchowy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 44 minutes, Benê Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Mineiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benê Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
