The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernd Chevalier who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of King Køng when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 5th minute of the game Ruperto Gallego made a throw-in which Ursino Moiselo played forward. In the 7th minute, Bernd Chevalier made a precise shot to the right of King Køng. Kaiser!'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 13th minute, Nicolas Behr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute of the match Ruperto Gallego sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bobby Krier skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to FC Lëtzebuerg getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Alexander Heidenreich hit a great ball. In the 22nd match minute, FC Lëtzebuerg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Heidenreich to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Julien Klopp took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for King Køng to make any attempt to save it. Julien Klopp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. King Køng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. King Køng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien Klopp in the 30th minute of play. Julien Klopp struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. King Køng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Lëtzebuerg. King Køng was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Julien Klopp capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Julien Klopp really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. In the 46th match minute, FC Lëtzebuerg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Heidenreich to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Bernd Chevalier's late challenge caught a Kaiser!'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernd Chevalier helped the player get up and apologised. Timothy von Fürstenberg hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Kaiser!'s Atila Cabezon was substituted for Segio Romillo. After a rather tough play, FC Lëtzebuerg's Timothy von Fürstenberg got a free kick in the 58th minute. The supporters of Kaiser! booed when FC Lëtzebuerg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julien Klopp didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerry Taube made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Ivan Apfelbaum. After a defensive mix-up in FC Lëtzebuerg's zone, Ursino Moiselo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bobby Krier came out of the goal and Ursino Moiselo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to FC Lëtzebuerg getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Alexander Heidenreich hit a great ball. Bobby Krier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atila Cabezon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atila Cabezon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 played minutes FC Lëtzebuerg got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Heidenreich. The audience was convinced that Julien Klopp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but King Køng was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. FC Lëtzebuerg's Bobby Krier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save FC Lëtzebuerg from getting a goal against them. Ruperto Gallego made in the 93rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by FC Lëtzebuerg's Gerry Taube. Kaiser!'s King Køng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julien Klopp in the 96th minute of play. The FC Lëtzebuerg players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
