In the 15th match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovanni Leite to maneuver through the defense. Baldomero Arias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto de Godoi in the 19th minute of the match. Epifanio Bortzaioriz kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Zé Roberto de Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Baldomero Arias made a huge save. Eriberto Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Felo in the 25th minute of play. Fellipe Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fellipe Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Baldomero Arias showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zé Roberto de Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Baldomero Arias made a huge save. The Joinville Esporte Clube fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when Joinville Esporte Clube's Gonçalo Munhoz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When Florentino Fresco came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Stone City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florentino Fresco couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Joinville Esporte Clube booed when Stone City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erubiel Claris didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Roberto de Godoi in the 77th minute of play forced Stone City's goalkeeper Baldomero Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fausto Aguiar scored 4-1 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baldomero Arias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ivan Sandaili sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eriberto Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Sandaili in the 90th minute of play. Stone City's Baldomero Arias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Roberto de Godoi in the 93rd minute of play. There was no doubt that Joinville Esporte Clube were the better team. Joinville Esporte Clube's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
