Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdomiro de Godoi in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elpidio Vitin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdomiro de Godoi in the 10th minute of play. Vélez Juniors's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Juninho Paulista ran over to the corner to take the kick. Romando Futebol Clube's Valdomiro de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdomiro de Godoi took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elpidio Vitin. Elpidio Vitin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 24th minute Valdomiro de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Vitin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valdomiro de Godoi went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Benigno Gurutz got a throw-in 31 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Nicolas Roland. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdomiro de Godoi in the 32nd minute of play. After 44 played minutes Vélez Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Nicolas Roland. After the first half Romando Futebol Clube were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdomiro de Godoi made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Romando Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Valdo Cavalcante. Santos Fonda charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santos Fonda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 55 played minutes, Romando Futebol Clube's Juninho Paulista shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elpidio Vitin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Romando Futebol Clube reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Roland in the 60th minute of play forced Romando Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Zenon Cupial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vélez Juniors's Fulgencio Xabel was substituted for Santos Fonda. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Romando Futebol Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guido Luzaide was slow to take the kick. The supporters of Romando Futebol Clube booed when Vélez Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Efraim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valdomiro de Godoi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elpidio Vitin having to make a save. Valdomiro de Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Elpidio Vitin made a huge save. Guido Luzaide struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Zenon Cupial didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vélez Juniors. In the 87th minute of the game Celedonio Eriz made a throw-in which Fulgencio Xabel played forward. A collision led to Romando Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Joélson de Mendonça hit a great ball. In the 91st minute Nicolas Roland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenon Cupial saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Cristian Naike made a precise shot to the right of Zenon Cupial. Romando Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Severo Maule hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
