Surahammar's Victor Santxol got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Victor Santxol made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Hannes Kempenaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sixten Tunander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Santxol in the 53rd minute of play. FC Hammarby Sjöstad's Sixten Tunander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Santxol in the 56th minute of play. After 62 minutes FC Hammarby Sjöstad's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Billy Fristedt who took care of the corner kick. Sixten Tunander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Pettersson in the 66th minute of the match. The throw-in from Billy Fristedt in the 69th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Hammarby Sjöstad's Sarracino De la Rosa. Ozan Heybetli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carl Engström having to make a save. 72 minutes into the match, Surahammar's goalkeeper Carl Engström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ozan Heybetli. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Pettersson in the 88th minute of play forced FC Hammarby Sjöstad's goalkeeper Sixten Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ozan Heybetli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carl Engström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC Hammarby Sjöstad defense, André Pettersson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sixten Tunander. The FC Hammarby Sjöstad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sixten Tunander should have stopped the shot. Surahammar were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Hammarby Sjöstad for a fine match.
