When Al Lofthouse fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Orxata I Fartons's protests and gave Al Lofthouse a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Orxata I Fartons getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Al Lofthouse hit a great ball. 32 minutes into the game, Orxata I Fartons's Julen Castillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arlindo Guedes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. If Fausto Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute.
