Didi Vergílio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Chicão Barbosa came out and tried to block the shot, but Didi Vergílio slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 20th minute. Egídio Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfredo Macedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vágner Seco's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. A collision led to Nova Era getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Egídio Vaz hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egídio Vaz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chicão Barbosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Egídio Vaz went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Alfredo Macedo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee ignored Nova Era's protests and gave Gilmar Veloso a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nova Era getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Gilmar Veloso hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Nova Era had won after a very even match.
