After a rather tough play, Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's Erubiel Beltran got a free kick in the 16th minute. After having played for 17 minutes, Jean-Sébastien Beauchet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Sociedad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean-Sébastien Beauchet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Damian Gumaro made in the 25th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Real Sociedad's Hervé Couturier. Elvio Niva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Hoareau, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ⓕⓤⓢⓘⓞⓝ ⒻⒸ's zone, Gaël Moutard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elvio Niva came out of the goal and Gaël Moutard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The wind increased when Bruno Baristo made the kick off in the second half. Marco Ginola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bruno Baristo went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Real Sociedad's Gaël Moutard got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd minute Nunez Arias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Ginola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paul-Émile Halgand received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Elvio Niva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Gaël Moutard reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elvio Niva. The goal made the score 3-2. Real Sociedad's François Vieu was substituted for Nicolas Hoareau. François Vieu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Elvio Niva made a huge save. Gaël Moutard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elvio Niva having to interfere. 83 minutes into the game, Gaël Moutard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Elvio Niva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gaël Moutard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Elvio Niva made a huge save. Elvio Niva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaël Moutard in the 94th minute of play. Real Sociedad were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
