The U21 Bulgaria fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Alexis Arrieta kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Leon Obando hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Nedko Tzokev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olger Azofeifa having to interfere. U21 Costa Rica's Olger Azofeifa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nedko Tzokev in the 22nd minute of play. Alexis Arrieta kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Olger Azofeifa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nedko Tzokev in the 30th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, U21 Bulgaria's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Padilla came free, but Stoyadin Shahov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 40 minutes of play, U21 Bulgaria's Georgi Asparuhov made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Olger Azofeifa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Georgi Asparuhov took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olger Azofeifa. Olger Azofeifa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nedko Tzokev made a kick off. 57 minutes into the match, U21 Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Georgi Asparuhov came free, but Olger Azofeifa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Costa Rica's Hernan Mendez was substituted for Kerry Flöter. 65 minutes into the match, U21 Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ikonom Kopchev came free, but Olger Azofeifa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, U21 Bulgaria's Mladen Isakov got a free kick in the 67th minute. Hernan Mendez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Stoyadin Shahov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernan Mendez in the 71st minute of play. After 72 minutes U21 Bulgaria's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Leon Obando who took care of the corner kick. U21 Costa Rica's Leon Obando was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Stoyadin Shahov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Neno Nozharov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Olger Azofeifa made a huge save. U21 Bulgaria's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Neno Nozharov in the 78th minute. A nice corner shot did that Georgi Asparuhov got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Olger Azofeifa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Bulgaria's goalkeeper Stoyadin Shahov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olger Azofeifa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Georgi Asparuhov in the 87th minute. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Georgi Asparuhov took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Olger Azofeifa to make any attempt to save it. In the 90th minute, Hernan Mendez made a precise shot to the right of Stoyadin Shahov. U21 Bulgaria's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. In the 94th minute, U21 Bulgaria's Georgi Asparuhov dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-6. The U21 Costa Rica fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. U21 Bulgaria were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
