The supporters of Scarlet Speedster booed when MINEIROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Guerreiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Scarlet Speedster's Jânio Guimarães in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Scarlet Speedster's Dudu de Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Quadros in the 23rd minute of play. Toninho Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudu de Toledo having to interfere. The supporters of MINEIROS booed when Scarlet Speedster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcel Gerber didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute Toninho Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dudu de Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lino Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jânio Guimarães to strike the kick off in the second half. Serginho Taffarel was a little too slow when Romário Ceresso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-2. Serginho Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Jânio Guimarães sent off a good shot on target. Vágner Gaspar's late challenge caught a Scarlet Speedster's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vágner Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. After 68 played minutes MINEIROS got a freekick which was hit by Vágner Gaspar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Romário Ceresso got free with Serginho Taffarel in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The MINEIROS supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Scarlet Speedster's performance. The match ended with a win for Scarlet Speedster.
