In the 78thth minute of the game Umberto Dionísio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Al-Fajuth's Édouard Mendy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benedito Mineiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Édouard Mendy made a huge save. Rômulo Soares was shown his second yellow card after 83 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Al-Fajuth's Carlos Marinho was substituted for Teodoro Massa. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Al-Fajuth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position.
