After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, José Pedro Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but José Pedro Madureira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Witomir Gierasik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ booed when Inter Milano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zula Mirowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inter Milano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ the free kick. 37 minutes into the match, Inter Milano's goal looked a bit too open when Juarês Branco came free, but Witomir Gierasik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Remigiusz Brzakala during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. João Carlos Prestes took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Witomir Gierasik. Witomir Gierasik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Prestes in the 46th minute of play forced Inter Milano's goalkeeper Witomir Gierasik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 played minutes Inter Milano got a freekick which was hit by Zula Mirowski. Dudu Fernandes, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Witomir Gierasik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Carlos Prestes, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Witomir Gierasik came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's João Carlos Prestes. But to his dismay, João Carlos Prestes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 69th minute Álvaro de Toledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Witomir Gierasik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Inter Milano defense, Juarês Branco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Witomir Gierasik. The Inter Milano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Witomir Gierasik should have stopped the shot. In the 74th minute, Juarês Branco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Witomir Gierasik was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Witomir Gierasik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juarês Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Witomir Gierasik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juarês Branco in the 79th minute of the match. Wasyl Pietras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wasyl Pietras in the 82nd minute of play forced PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's goalkeeper Thiago Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wasyl Pietras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the match, José Pedro Madureira notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Inter Milano's Witomir Gierasik. Witomir Gierasik was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. PALMEIRAS CE - DMZ's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
