Kostas Charalambakis started the match with the kick off. Ovidio Jaen made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Kostas Charalambakis sent off a good shot on target. Ovidio Jaen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgos Trochanas, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Alkis Aggellakis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anibal Tximitx went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Adolfo Berbiz came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the New Borbotones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adolfo Berbiz couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Anibal Tximitx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute of the match Dimitris Nasiopoulos shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ovidio Jaen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Ceferino Beltxe fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Borbotones's protests and gave Ceferino Beltxe a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tabachana F.C. booed when New Borbotones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ceferino Beltxe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ovidio Jaen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kostas Charalambakis in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ceferino Beltxe in the 23rd minute of play forced Tabachana F.C.'s goalkeeper Alkis Aggellakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tabachana F.C.'s Alkis Aggellakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Tximitx in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Adolfo Berbiz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New Borbotones fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Kostas Charalambakis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Ovidio Jaen made a huge save. 33 minutes into the match, Giorgos Trochanas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ovidio Jaen, 1-2. Alkis Aggellakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ladislao Macerio in the 36th minute of play. After 38 minutes of play, New Borbotones's Anibal Tximitx made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alkis Aggellakis was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Tabachana F.C.'s Evripidis Kamarinakis got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Ciriaco Panfilo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alkis Aggellakis. Tabachana F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 44 played minutes Tabachana F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Evripidis Kamarinakis. Alkis Aggellakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Macerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 minutes of play, New Borbotones's Anibal Tximitx made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alkis Aggellakis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adolfo Berbiz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Alexis Idrotoglou managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tabachana F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Alexis Idrotoglou was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ovidio Jaen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giorgos Trochanas in the 55th minute of play forced New Borbotones's goalkeeper Ovidio Jaen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giorgos Trochanas took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ovidio Jaen. Ovidio Jaen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Demis Stoltidis kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Ceferino Beltxe reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alkis Aggellakis. The goal made the score 2-5. Tabachana F.C.'s Alkis Aggellakis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Berbiz in the 77th minute of play. Alkis Aggellakis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ladislao Macerio went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-6 was the resulting score. In the 83rd match minute, New Borbotones was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Berbiz to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Tabachana F.C. getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Renos Kalamaridis hit a great ball. Alkis Aggellakis made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Ceferino Beltxe sent off a good shot on target. Cirilo Cordeal kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Alkis Aggellakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anibal Tximitx in the 95th minute of play. The New Borbotones supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing New Borbotones would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
