In the 17th match minute, Evangel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Alfaro to maneuver through the defense. Taylor Meyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomás Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the game, Operário Futebol Clube's Claudinho Arantes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Taylor Meyer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Taylor Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomás Loureiro in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 played minutes Operário Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Loureiro. The supporters of Evangel FC booed when Operário Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinando Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wilton Severo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 25th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Enrique Weathers. 27 minutes into the match, Operário Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Wilton Severo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sherwood Uribe. Tomás Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Wilton Severo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sherwood Uribe in the 33rd minute. Operário Futebol Clube's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Brett Uribe scored to the left of an out of position Wilton Severo, making the score, 1-1. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Brett Uribe took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Wilton Severo to make any attempt to save it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thomás Loureiro to make the kick off. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 55 minutes into the match, Operário Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Sherwood Uribe came free, but Wilton Severo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Operário Futebol Clube defense, Bradley Dykes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilton Severo. The Operário Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilton Severo should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Operário Futebol Clube's zone, Sherwood Uribe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilton Severo came out of the goal and Sherwood Uribe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Claudinho Arantes fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Operário Futebol Clube's protests and gave Claudinho Arantes a yellow card for diving instead. Wilton Severo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sherwood Uribe in the 64th minute of play. If Bradley Dykes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Operário Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ferdinando Souza hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Brett Uribe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilton Severo was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. Operário Futebol Clube's Wilton Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sherwood Uribe in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute, Brett Uribe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Evangel FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. Thomás Loureiro charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomás Loureiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. There was no doubt that Evangel FC were the better team. Evangel FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
