After a defensive mix-up in Operário Futebol Clube's zone, Valério Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilton Severo came out of the goal and Valério Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of SC Freiburg 09 booed when Operário Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zacarias Monsanto made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Sérgio Nascimento sent off a good shot on target. In the 16th minute, Operário Futebol Clube's Thomás Loureiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zacarias Monsanto. Zacarias Monsanto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Wilton Severo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valério Garcia went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Thomás Loureiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zacarias Monsanto came out and tried to block the shot, but Thomás Loureiro slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 32nd minute. With an all-out effort, Operário Futebol Clube's Zacarias Monsanto threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Thomás Loureiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Garcia in the 38th minute of play forced Operário Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Wilton Severo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilton Severo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sabino Leite went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valério Garcia stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aparício Pádua charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aparício Pádua the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Freiburg 09's Aparício Pádua got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Natã de Almeida, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Valério Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Didi Tinoco took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zacarias Monsanto. Zacarias Monsanto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. Operário Futebol Clube's Wilton Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabino Leite in the 63rd minute of play. Zacarias Monsanto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didi Tinoco in the 64th minute of play. Wilton Severo made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Valério Garcia sent off a good shot on target. Didi Tinoco took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zacarias Monsanto. Zacarias Monsanto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3. Zacarias Monsanto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Valério Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 76 minutes Operário Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valério Garcia who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Valério Garcia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Operário Futebol Clube's Wilton Severo did a great save. Zacarias Monsanto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Didi Tinoco in the 80th minute of the match. SC Freiburg 09's Zacarias Monsanto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didi Tinoco in the 82nd minute of play. If Thomás Loureiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 played minutes Operário Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Natã de Almeida. SC Freiburg 09's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
