A collision led to Balavanis getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Doru Băcioiu hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Horaţiu Vermeşan during the 47th minute. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toader Arotăriței to make the kick off. But to his dismay, Cristinel Tapalagă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. A hard shot by Marin Gavrilă from long distance, 64 minutes into the match, got Akakios Panopoulos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 65th minute Toader Arotăriței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Akakios Panopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eustratios Valsaris hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 68th match minute, Balavanis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costică Ghișerel to maneuver through the defense. Akakios Panopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marin Gavrilă in the 74th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Vassilis Lazarakis notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Balavanis's Petre Baicea. Petre Baicea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Balavanis's Marin Gavrilă slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Akakios Panopoulos. That made the score 2-3 after 84 minutes of play. Balavanis's Toader Arotăriței got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Vakoufi Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Marin Gavrilă came free, but Akakios Panopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toader Arotăriței in the 94th minute of play forced Vakoufi Utd's goalkeeper Akakios Panopoulos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Vakoufi Utd defense, Marin Gavrilă kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Akakios Panopoulos. The Vakoufi Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Akakios Panopoulos should have stopped the shot. Balavanis played a much better game than Vakoufi Utd and deserved their victory. The Vakoufi Utd players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
