The supporters of Penang Island booed when América-SC F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Henrique didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bulsky Sinuraya's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Armandinho Medeiros skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Fery Guci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bulsky Sinuraya was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of América-SC F.C. booed when Penang Island was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fadh Ie didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Luís Henrique made a precise shot to the right of Fery Guci. Penang Island's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Bulsky Sinuraya was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Luís Henrique succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 68th playminute. When Henry Akmal came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Penang Island fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Akmal couldn't finish the play. But to his dismay, Bulsky Sinuraya quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Fery Guci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico Melo in the 79th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Fery Guci successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Frederico Melo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fery Guci. That made the score 1-7 in the 82 minute of play. In the 91st minute Henry Akmal suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Luizinho Silva's late challenge caught a Penang Island's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luizinho Silva helped the player get up and apologised. Penang Island made a substitution. Pandapotan Sinuhaji replaced Henry Akmal. In the 92nd match minute, América-SC F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizinho Silva to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched América-SC F.C. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
