Clemente Abad came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by FC VERSHINA’dnipro's Volodymyr Ovcharenko. But to his dismay, Volodymyr Ovcharenko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Clemente Abad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Volodymyr Ovcharenko in the 8th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Rashford in the 9th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Clemente Abad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clemente Abad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Volodymyr Ovcharenko in the 10th minute of the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Marcus Rashford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC VERSHINA’dnipro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcus Rashford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcus Rashford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Abad having to interfere. Clemente Abad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stepan Savchenko in the 20th minute of play. Leo Sol's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edvin van der Sar firmly grabbed it by the left post. Edvin van der Sar was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Abelardo Loreto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 23 minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Marcus Rashford notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Boca Juniors's Clemente Abad. Clemente Abad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Clemente Abad didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Volodymyr Ovcharenko went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Volodymyr Ovcharenko in the 36th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Clemente Abad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Niceto Gipuzkoa hit a great ball. Clemente Abad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Volodymyr Ovcharenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Leo Sol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvin van der Sar having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors's Tomás Rosario got a free kick in the 50th minute. The long shot by Rio Ferdinand in the 51st minute really tested Clemente Abad's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 52nd minute, Rio Ferdinand hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Volodymyr Ovcharenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Volodymyr Ovcharenko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Boca Juniors's Clemente Abad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. 68 minutes into the game, Rio Ferdinand recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Clemente Abad. Rio Ferdinand showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Rio Ferdinand managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC VERSHINA’dnipro's supporters rose to their feet, but Rio Ferdinand was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Abad breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clemente Abad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Volodymyr Ovcharenko in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Claudio Senin hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the game, FC VERSHINA’dnipro's Volodymyr Ovcharenko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Clemente Abad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. The supporters of FC VERSHINA’dnipro booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Jatsu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvin van der Sar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Claudio Senin went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score.
