In the 17th minute, Clóvis Mineiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Irreal Madrid fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Károly Tolnay came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Szombathely Squirrels fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Károly Tolnay couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the game, Vince Sós recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edgard Fernandez. Vince Sós showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Márton Zentay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogério Recife charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rogério Recife the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Károly Tolnay to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Irreal Madrid booed when Szombathely Squirrels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márton Zentay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgard Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Balázs Pálinkás, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute, Márton Zentay got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
