The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Aleksandr Arnautov made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Gunnar Dyrstad sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniil Malysh in the 15th minute of play forced FK Dampsaga's goalkeeper Bakezda Mann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dinamo St. Petersburg's Aleksandr Arnautov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunnar Dyrstad in the 22nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gunnar Dyrstad got free with Aleksandr Arnautov in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gunnar Dyrstad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Aleksandr Arnautov made a huge save. 29 minutes into the game, one of Dinamo St. Petersburg:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dinamo St. Petersburg:s Aleksandr Arnautov showed great skill when he stopped Robert Sandberg:s penalty. Gunnar Dyrstad struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Aleksandr Arnautov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FK Dampsaga. After 47 played minutes FK Dampsaga got a freekick which was hit by Leon Woldseth. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When Zinoviy Mamentev fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dinamo St. Petersburg's protests and gave Zinoviy Mamentev a yellow card for diving instead. When FK Dampsaga's Gunnar Dyrstad in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. It was a well-played corner which Marius Kleven managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. FK Dampsaga's Bakezda Mann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save FK Dampsaga from getting a goal against them. Gunnar Dyrstad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aleksandr Arnautov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Dinamo St. Petersburg's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Dyrstad came free, but Aleksandr Arnautov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Gunnar Dyrstad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aleksandr Arnautov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When the referee ended the match the FK Dampsaga players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
