Blas Aritza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emiliano Caiola went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of La Acade booed when SV Balverliefd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Caiola didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, SV Balverliefd's goal looked a bit too open when Kip William came free, but Yorrick Zoethout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albano Abadia in the 21st minute of play forced SV Balverliefd's goalkeeper Yorrick Zoethout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blas Aritza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk Veerman in the 33rd minute of play. Blas Aritza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44th minute, Melker Gudmundsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kip William to make the kick off.
