When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Markos Kokotoulis put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Simon Bachmann. SSV Ulm 1846's Gustav Balzer suffered a concussion in the 47th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Ntinos Bogdanos charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

SSV Ulm 1846's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ntinos Bogdanos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. With an all-out effort, RO Army V55's Simon Bachmann threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manos Komaitis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. RO Army V55's Eutichios Bletsas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otfried Lintorf in the 71st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Thodoris Polimenakos took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Simon Bachmann to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Toader Kroos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SSV Ulm 1846's supporters rose to their feet, but Toader Kroos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eutichios Bletsas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Otfried Lintorf's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eutichios Bletsas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Ntinos Bogdanos came free, but Simon Bachmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
