Jerome Rohrer was slow to take the kick. During this time Jovens Democratas MZC's players had a chance to rest. Silas Gerber was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Ren Jie Fan charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ren Jie Fan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 15 minutes into the game, GeRaÇãO-83's Ren Jie Fan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dalmo Saldanha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ren Jie Fan in the 17th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Jerome Rohrer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guto Jacinto was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. A collision led to GeRaÇãO-83 getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Carl Ancelotti hit a great ball. Dalmo Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ren Jie Fan in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute of the game Laerte Bittencourt made a throw-in which Jerome Rohrer played forward. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Marcus Paes made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, GeRaÇãO-83's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Lenzi came free, but Guto Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dalmo Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ren Jie Fan, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. GeRaÇãO-83's Robinho Freire was substituted for Ren Jie Fan. In the 63rd minute, Valeri Hubavenski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jovens Democratas MZC made a substitution. Duda Amorim replaced Marcus Paes. A nice corner shot did that Leonardo Guerra got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Guto Jacinto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Jovens Democratas MZC from getting a goal against them. Dalmo Saldanha was a little too slow when Didi Couto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-2. Guto Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elano Loureiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Jovens Democratas MZC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
