Modesto Nikola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyriakos Fragoulis, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Damian Quiroga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Tasos Brizolakos made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zinon Stratis in the 34th minute of play forced San Martin de Tucuman's goalkeeper Modesto Nikola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Modesto Nikola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kyriakos Fragoulis's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After 37 minutes, Kyriakos Fragoulis made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. San Martin de Tucuman's Modesto Nikola tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Benedicto Lalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Martin de Tucuman's supporters rose to their feet, but Benedicto Lalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tasos Brizolakos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the match, Saronida FC's goalkeeper Tasos Brizolakos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gaston Etxepare. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaston Etxepare to strike the kick off in the second half. Modesto Nikola was a little too slow when Chrisostomos Balodimos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 0-3. If Zinon Stratis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saronida FC made a substitution. Christos Periou replaced Minas Rodanakis. In the 60th minute, Saronida FC's Kyriakos Fragoulis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Zinon Stratis kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. If Kyriakos Fragoulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. San Martin de Tucuman's Mauricio Atarratze was substituted for Luisito Seme.
