In the 13th minute Benicio Danel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eriberto Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Uriel Raymon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Fernandes in the 46th minute of the match.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Acácio Neto to make the kick off.
