The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Blåränderna's Arvid Vallman in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Marius Pașcanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the game, Mario Jesus Massuh threw the ball into play from the sideline. Blåränderna's Tommy Heggert quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Ferrando Magallanes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marius Pașcanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Christian Sjödin was a little too slow when Efraín Soler got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 1-0. Marius Pașcanu scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ferrando Magallanes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Blåränderna's Bengt-Åke Lidström quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mario Jesus Massuh, made in the 33rd minute of the game. If Marius Pașcanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the match, Marius Pașcanu notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Capo de Provincia's Ferrando Magallanes. Ferrando Magallanes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Capo de Provincia booed when Blåränderna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marius Pașcanu didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Efraín Soler made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Conrado Cumsille hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Heggert in the 55th minute of play forced Capo de Provincia's goalkeeper Ferrando Magallanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Anselmo Mosca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommy Heggert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ferrando Magallanes having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Blåränderna's Marius Pașcanu got a free kick in the 60th minute. Mario Jesus Massuh's late challenge caught a Blåränderna's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario Jesus Massuh helped the player get up and apologised. Arvid Vallman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Ferrando Magallanes made a huge save. Arvid Vallman who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Ferrando Magallanes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arvid Vallman got free with Ferrando Magallanes in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 80 minutes, Jerry Vallman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blåränderna and the Capo de Provincia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jerry Vallman kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. When John Skager fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blåränderna's protests and gave John Skager a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Capo de Provincia. Christiano Cabañas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Christian Sjödin. 2-2. David Pizarro hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match.
