Gremio Viana's Vicente Paixão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fredy Montero in the 10th minute of play. Manuel Porto succeeded in the game's 11th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. 14 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's Edson Nascimento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that António Trubin narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
